6 Bead Diagonal
4 Count Matrix
8 Strand Border
With Beaded Edge

Description: This is an openface, 8 strand, 4 count matrix, 6 bead, diagonal pattern border with a beaded edge.

When a straight lime of beads is added to the edge of a matrix based border an extra carrier strand must be added to the edge.In this example the total strand count of each border becomes 9.

If worsted weight yarn is used the border would be about 3/4 of an inch wide.

6 Bead Diagonal
4 Count Matrix
8 Strand Border
With Beaded Edge

Description: This is an openface, 8 strand, 4 count matrix, 6 bead diagonal pattern border with stright line beading on each edge of the border. The stright line beading adds two additional strands to the basic matrix pattern.

Each border is made up of 10 strands. 4 of these strands are used as bead carrier strands. On each border beads are strung on the edge strands and every fourth strand of each layer of the shed of the matrix portion of the border. The result is, starting next to the center element, beads are strung on strands 1, 2, 9, and 10.

If worsted weight yarn is used the border would be about 3/4 of an inch wide.
